Unilever Names New Chairman

Selects CEO of Bayer AG

Unilever allows its CEOs to serve nine-year terms, and Michael Treschow’s is up in April 2016. Looking ahead, the multinational has signed the CEO of another global brand manufacturer to succeed him in this role. Dr. Marijn Dekkers to succeed Michael Treschow in April 2016
 
Dr. Dekkers is considered by many to be one of Europe’s leading global business figures, and will succeed Treschow as chairman of Unilever N.V. and Unilever PLC. He will be nominated for election to the Boards at the Annual General Meetings (AGMs) in April 2016. 
 
Dr. Dekkers is currently chief executive officer of Bayer AG and, will step down from this role at the end of April. 
 
Treschow will retire from Unilever at the 2016 AGMs; he joined the Unilever Boards in 2007 and was the first independent, non-executive chairman of Unilever.
